This process applies to Engineering and Operational staff involved in the SINCs process.

Purpose

This process enables the management of safety related failures of signalling & telecoms equipment and services on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure.

The process enables a unified national system of classification, review and management of risk.

Management control is delegated at a level appropriate to the failure severity and impact, whilst providing a review process that identifies trends and risks.
