Purpose
This manual defines the process for managing safety related failures of Signalling & Telecoms equipment occurring on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure.
This manual sets out the process for managing safety related failures of Signalling & Telecoms equipment so that:
a) sufficient, timely and relevant information about failures is available to support a failure management process;
b) the cause of each failure is established;
c) necessary corrective action is taken to mitigate the risk and prevent reoccurrence;
d) the roles and responsibilities for the management of safety related failures are defined.
