This module defines the format and presentation required for TSR and ESR designs.
The processes used for TSR and ESR application is the signalling design production processes as defined in NR/L2/SIG/11201. Separate processes are used where Maintenance apply the TSR and ESR as defined in NR/L3/SIG/SG0111.
The interpretation of particular standards, and other design considerations, are discussed and clarified.
It applies to all TSR and ESR designs on Network Rail infrastructure using lineside signalling.
It does not describe the re-programming of train control systems necessary for TSR and ESR designs on ERTMS or ATP equipped infrastructure.
TSR and ESR designs specifying speeds in both mph and kmh are dealt with.
The competence for TSR design is defined in NR/L2/SIG/10160.
The required arrangement of lineside TSR and ESR equipment, and other technical aspects of the design process, are dealt with by RIS-0735-CCS and other standards
Purpose
This module enables a consistent approach to the presentation of TSR and ESR designs and clarifies some of the technical rules which govern those designs.
It will drive standardised TSR and ESR design presentation, targeted to the users of the designs so that they are easy to understand and give clear instructions for the installation and removal of TSR equipment. This clear instruction will reduce the risk of error during installation to make sure there is good correlation between design and installation.
