Introduction

Dependability includes reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS), as described in NR/L2/SIG/11201.

Any client specified dependability performance should be stated in the client remit and design specification (see NR/L2/SIG/11201, Module A4). These should be developed in conjunction with the Route Asset Manager (S&T).

The means of developing and designing a signalling system to satisfy specified RAMS requirements is given in BS EN 50126.
