This module applies when a signalling layout risk workshop might be required to form part of the signalling layout risk assessment of existing layouts or infrastructure change.

It applies to those undertaking signalling layout risk assessment where Network Rail is the Infrastructure Manager. They might be either Network Rail employees or appointed contractors/consultants acting on behalf of Network Rail.

Purpose

This module forms part of the Signalling Risk Assessment Handbook (NR/L2/SIG/14201) and is to be read in conjunction with the other modules of the handbook and reference documentation relevant to the prevention and mitigation of overruns. It provides information that promotes consistency in the layout risk assessment process.
