This business process controls the issue of signalling and telecoms keys that allow access to signalling and telecoms equipment under Network Rail ownership.

The keys included can be found in Appendix A. 

Keys that provide access to sites regulated by National Railways Security Programme (NRSP) i.e. Critical National Infrastructure & National Infrastructure (Cat 2) need to be controlled in line with these regulations.

Guidance on controls for these sites is available on the Network Rail Security hub and additional controls are required. Contact [email protected] for further information.

Purpose 

This business process sets out how Network Rail confirms that only competent people can access sites that contain signalling and telecoms equipment under Network Rail ownership. This minimises risk to individuals and the operational railway.
