This standard sets out the requirements for the design and installation and coverage of VSS and equipment on Network Rail's infrastructure i.e. stations, station car parks depots and lineside.

This standard does not define any requirements for the design and installation of Driver Only Operation (DOO) VSS or any other safety critical video systems, including body worn camera systems.

Purpose

This standard provides a minimum performance level for high quality Video Surveillance Systems (VSS) to improve passenger safety, station operation and to combat crime, terrorism and disorder.
