This module applies to ancillary assets requiring Visual by Line of Route Examinations as defined in NR/L3/CIV/1A.

NOTE: This module does not apply to Ancillary Assets that are managed by Operation Property in accordance with NR/L3/CIV/006 . For Operation Property Ancillary Asset use NR/L3/CIV/006/3D

NOTE: This module does not apply to Ancillary Assets that have a regime of Visual and Detailed Examinations for those assets refer to NR/L3/CIV/006/2A & 2B.

Purpose

This module provides a specification to mitigate the risk of failure to undertake a compliant visual examination by line of route examination for a structures asset which could result in potential functional failures going undetected by the asset management team [Structures] and might result in accidents and/or disruptions to the operation of the railway network.
