The scope of this standard is defined by the range of Works covered by the drawings given in the Index provided in NR/L3/CIV/151/F010.

The process used to design and check an SDD is defined in NR/L2/CIV/003. Up to June 2011, the process for an SDD required the production and submission of Forms A and B: the process now requires the production and submission of NR/L2/CIV/003/F001, F002 and F003. An SDD defined through Forms A and B can be used, but its application to the particular site requires the submission of one or more of F001, F002 and F003 - this is covered in 5.6 and 5.7.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to issue Standard Designs and Details (SDD) for Building and Civil Engineering Works along with supplementary information to that given in NR/L2/CIV/003 Engineering Assurance of Building and Civil Engineering Works on the process for their application.
