This standard applies to all 650/750 V DC traction power distribution equipment at substations, track paralleling huts and other lineside locations forming part of traction power distribution systems. In particular, this standard applies to the secondary side of rectifier transformers, rectifiers and their connections, DC busbars, DC switchgear and its connections and, where they can be isolated from the conductor rail, track feeder cables and trackside current and voltage relays.
The scope of this standard has also been increased to capture NSCDs, TFS and CRH control panels.
Conductor rails and electric track equipment covered by the appropriate DC Electrified Lines Working Instructions are specifically excluded from the scope of this standard.
In the Merseyrail area Nominated Persons carry out the duties of Authorised Persons where required by this standard.
This standard does not apply to DC Traction Power Distribution Equipment installed on DC overhead systems (such as Sheffield Tram Train and Sunderland Metro).
