This standard applies to competent testing staff from any discipline when carrying out internal comparison checks on IMTE.

The use of Calibration Work Instructions identified in this standard is mandatory where no manufacturer's calibration specification exists and must be complied with by January 2009.

Purpose

This standard provides the index and version control of Calibration Work Instructions for the internal calibration/comparison checking of Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment (IMTE) within Infrastructure Maintenance.

Each Work Instruction provides in a consistent format the requirements of internal comparison checks on Category B equipment where a manufacturer's calibration specification does not exist. They standardise internal calibration requirements across Network Rail's Maintenance function.
