This procedure applies to Network Rail Route Operations Controllers.

PURPOSE

This procedure sets out the process to be followed by Network Rail Route Operations Control to:

a) arrange for trains to be stopped and or an emergency switch off of traction current in an emergency situation;

b) facilitate the use of The Emergency Access Code by a Train Operating Company (TOC) / Freight Operating Company (FOC) when emergency track access to non-Network Rail controlled infrastructure is requested.
