This module specifies the responsibilities and requirements for the review and dissemination of urgent safety related operating information.

It applies to all those involved in Supply Chain Operations (SCO) Directly Operated Fleet operations in the context of this module It applies to:

a) any high-risk operating incidents or irregularities;

b) high risk equipment defects (other than defects in equipment on rail vehicles, plant and machinery that are within the scope of RIS-8250-RST or in signalling and telecommunications equipment that are within the scope ofRIS-0707-CCS which have the potential to recur at any time or location.

This module applies to the systemic misapplication or misunderstanding of operating rules, regulations and instructions, which have the potential:

a) to be widespread within the railway group and its contractors; and

b) to increase risks on the infrastructure.

Purpose

This module shall assist in the overall safety of the rail industry by alerting the industry if Network Rail becomes aware of a problem that could have repercussions for other companies.
