The scope of this document is limited to the following activities carried out by the SCO Quality team;

• Auditing of infrastructure material and product line suppliers and manufacturers to support Network Rail procurement activities for materials/ products used on Network Rail infrastructure

• Material and product lines failure investigations conducted dependent on safety and quality risks identified by SCO Materials Team and assuring the supplier undertakes effective product failure investigation to identify root cause and demonstrate continual improvement.

Purpose

This document describes the framework for completion of Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) activities to reduce the risk and likelihood of product failure potentially attributed to safety incidents or train delay posed by the introduction of poor quality material and product lines, provided from External Suppliers/Manufactures managed by Supply Chain Operations (SCO), Route Service (RS), into the Network Rail managed infrastructure.
