The scope of this document is limited to the following activities carried out by the RS Quality Team:  

• Auditing of SCO M&L suppliers and manufacturers of infrastructure material/products used on Network Rail infrastructure and logistics service providers where it potentially impacts on   product quality.  

• Investigate material and product failures (Quality Issues) identified by SCO M&L customers to ensure the supplier undertakes effective investigation to identify Root Cause and Correction and Corrective Actions and demonstrate continual   improvement.

Purpose

This document describes the framework for completion of Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) activities of Supply Chain Operations (SCO) Materials and Logistics Teams (M&L), Route Service (RS), Suppliers / Manufacturers to reduce the risk and likelihood of safety incidents and/or train delays from the introduction of poor-quality material and product failure in Network Rail managed infrastructure.
