Protect flooring and walls when the work may damage them. Sheets of hardboard make suitable temporary covering. Industrial rubber matting may be used as a reusable floor covering, but should not be confused with the insulating safety matting to be laid in high voltage areas.

Do not store excessive amounts of material in relay and equipment rooms. Check that you do not block access to working equipment.

Fire extinguishers need to be provided in the room from the commencement of the work.
