This standard defines the maintenance requirements for telecoms power plant, inverters, batteries and uninterruptible power supplies in use on Network Rail telecommunications infrastructure.

This standard applies to all persons engaged in the maintenance of telecoms power plant, batteries and uninterruptible power supplies. It does not apply to Public Emergency Telephone Systems (PETS) Power Supply Unit (PSU), chargers and batteries.

Purpose

The purpose of maintaining and testing telecoms power plant, inverters, batteries and uninterruptible power supplies is to decrease the incidence of failures through deterioration and to identify potential failures before they become service affecting.
