This module applies to the maintenance, and those undertaking it, of Whiteley PETS, charger & batteries where used as Public Emergency Telephone Systems at road/rail crossings on Network Rail infrastructure. The maintenance of the telephones is covered by standard NR/L3/TEL/30181/011.
Purpose
The purpose of maintaining and testing Whiteley public emergency telephone system (PETS) is to decrease the incidence of failures through deterioration and to identify potential failures before they become service affecting.
