This document applies when any arc welding activity is undertaken on any track componentry.

The Weld Procedure Specifications cover rail, switches and crossing components. The WPSs also state the criteria for each of the arc welding processes Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Manual Metal Arc (MMA) and apply to Network Rail and its contractors.
