This Special Inspection Notice applies to all Smiths/SPX BR843 Mk2 Barrier Pedestals fitted at Automatic Half Barriers. This SIN shall apply to all Territories.

Purpose

This Special Inspection Notice defines a requirement to examine the pivot shaft and associated equipment at all Automatic Half Barrier (AHB) B.R.843 Barrier Pedestals, for evidence of lateral movement of the pivot shaft in excess of 2mm. This examination will include where necessary, an analysis of data from dataloggers, (where fitted), FMS records, or both where necessary. This Special Inspection Notice also defines the actions to be taken where deficiencies are discovered.
