Purpose

This document provides information concerning the use of all sections of the Contract Requirements - Safety (CR-S),

S/008-0 (user guide and Safety Clause Menu),

S/008-1 (section 1 - mandatory requirements),

S/008-2 (section 2 - particular requirements),

S/008-3 (section 3 - information and guidance), and

S/008-4 (section 4 - model documents).

Primarily, this part of the document is designed to take Network Rail Personnel through the various stages in the development, control and issue of the relevant sections to Network Rail contractors.

In the case of a contract where Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM) applies, the CR-S containing the relevant clauses and attachments will form part of the Pre-Construction Information.
