This specification applies to all geotextiles used as a separator/filter between a sand or stone blanket and ballast. This specification also applies to geotextiles used in drainage schemes for wrapping pipes or trenches. It does not cover the use of reinforcing geogrids.

PURPOSE

This specification gives the requirements, in terms of physical properties and tests, for geotextiles intended for permanent use in the substructure of Railtrack's permanent way or in drainage schemes.
