This specification covers check rails of the 33C1 profile (33 kg/m linear mass). It does not cover check rails manufactured from rails of the 113A or 95RBH profiles, to which the requirements of RT/CE/S/061 Pearlitic rails apply. It covers the manufacturing process to be used and the properties required of the rail and the methods to be used to ensure that a consistent product is delivered. It does not cover installation and maintenance.

PURPOSE

This specification defines Railtrack's requirements for the manufacture of 33C1 check rails, previously known as U69 or UIC33, the properties required of the rail and the methods to be used to ensure that a consistent product is delivered.
