This specification applies to the data within the GEOGIS database being within the responsibility of the Railtrack Director's Nominee (RDN), and to the GEOGIS database as a whole.

PURPOSE

This document defines the processes, procedures and standards for the effective management of the GEOGIS Asset Database. Documentation is in three classes:

Class 0 This Document Defines purpose of quality system and how it is structured.

Class 1 Standards and Procedures Defines Railtrack mandatory requirements stating what must be done and when. These requirements must be met and it is the responsibility of Railtrack to ensure that they are met. How and by whom they are met is not relevant at this level.

Class 2 Guidance Documentation Descriptions, Codes of Practice and guidelines as to how the requirements may be met and by whom.

These documents will normally be produced and maintained (within the Geogis Quality System) by those Nominees within Railtrack directly responsible for meeting (or ensuring that their suppliers meet) the requirements defined in the Class 1 documents.
