This document defines the labelling/identification, sealing and traceability requirements for serviceable safety critical and safety related signalling equipment. The following is of equipment covered by this standard however these are only examples:

• signalling relays;

• serviceable mechanical or electro-mechanical signalling equipment and components;

• serviceable hydraulic or electro-hydraulic signalling equipment and components;

• serviceable pneumatic or electro-pneumatic signalling equipment and components;

• any item of modular signalling equipment e.g. amplifiers, geographical sets etc.

• any item of signalling equipment that does not fulfil any of the above categories.

Purpose

This document advises Servicing Agents who repair or service signalling equipment of the labelling requirements that should be applied before the equipment is released for re-use onto Network Rail's Infrastructure.
