This Standard shall apply to all new works and where the position of insulated block joints in the vicinity of connections/junctions changed, specific action is required at each location:

a) when it is assessed for the running of new rolling stock

b) where insulated rail joints positions are changed.

Purpose

This Standard details the method to be used so as to ensure that adequate clearance exists between trains at junctions, and specifies the method of recording the position of insulated rail joints, which are critical both at site and on relevant records.
