This Notice applies to the following:

a) Cables and current-carrying wires installed prior to, or during 1970, irrespective of interlocking type or function operated;

b) Single cut circuits, irrespective of wiring age.

c) Internal cables which are exposed to the elements (e.g. those between a lever frame/panel and an associated adjacent relay room which is not directly below the operating floor. Such a cable may run through an external pipe or external troughing).

Purpose

This Special Inspection Notice details the actions necessary to ensure cables and circuits of the type listed in the Scope are identified and recorded.
