This Notice applies to all ADtranz Type B3 3000 impedance bonds manufactured prior to October 2000 when used in conjunction with TI 21 track circuits. Bonds supplied after that date have modified construction and are not affected. These can be identified by the marking ‘Mod. State 1' (or higher).

Purpose

Investigation has revealed that ADtranz Type B3 3000 impedance bonds manufactured prior to October 2000 are likely to have a manufacturing defect. The defect may cause changes in the performance of TI 21 track circuits to which they are fitted and could lead to failure to detect some trains. This SIN details management arrangements to control this risk.
