PURPOSE

This is the introductory document to DIS and SDS data preparation. Data preparation for both these subsystems is generally the same, except that DIS requires an additional data structure for the Ethernet IP address, and supports an extra colour monitor for displaying signalling diagrams. DIS, unlike SDS, also supports the SPAD Alarm. Except where these differences are discussed, subsequent references to DIS mean DIS or SDS.
