Introduction
Alarm and report messages come to IECC System Monitor (ISM). The information can be output to the ISM technician's terminal, the printer and the PC SPAD Monitor (PSM) logger or IECC PC Logger (IPL), both of which are replacements for the magnetic tape logger which is no longer used.
Most of the messages sent to ISM conform to specific formats (categories). These messages are processed by ISM to provide short form messages for display on the summary screens, long form messages for display on the detail screens and, if necessary, alarms for display on the GPVDU. The categories, messages, and message descriptions are detailed in sections 2, 3 and 4.
The other messages sent to ISM are free text messages. These messages are sending-subsystem specific and, in general, either provide self-explanatory reports or report serious software failures. The exceptions are messages from DIS and these are described in section 5. Some of the DIS alarm messages are also displayed on the GPVDU.
The ISM messages which are also displayed on the GPVDU are detailed in section 6.
