Introduction

Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC) systems are installed and operational at eleven Railtrack Signalling Control Centres (SCCs). Feedback from Railtrack production, operations and maintenance personnel generated the need for various improvements to the IECC including the addition of new IECC functions. Railtrack HQ contracted AEA Technology Rail to develop a package of improvements and new additions to the IECC software specifically focused on the automatic routesetting capability of the IECC.

This package of improvements, designated IECC Upgrade 002, comprises software changes, enhancements and the provision of new functionality to the Automatic Routesetting Subsystem (ARS) and Timetable Processor Subsystem (TTP).

This briefing note provides signalling centre managers and team leaders with information on the ARS component of IECC Upgrade 002 (aka ARS Upgrade 002).
