Introduction

Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC) systems are installed and operational at eleven Railtrack Signalling Control Centres (SCCs). Feedback from Railtrack production, operations and maintenance personnel generated the need for various improvements to the IECC including the addition of new IECC functions. Railtrack HQ contracted AEA Technology Rail to develop a package of improvements and new additions to the IECC software specifically focused on the automatic routesetting capability of the IECC.

This package of improvements, designated IECC Upgrade 002, comprises software changes, enhancements and the provision of new functionality to the Automatic Routesetting Subsystem (ARS) and Timetable Processor Subsystem (TTP). Each change in IECC Upgrade 002 is identified by a unique number in the Dxxx series.

Once the IECC Upgrade 002 changes have obtained product acceptance, the revised IECC Upgrade 002 software will be available for rolling out to all of Railtrack's IECCs.

This briefing note provides the Upgrade 002 Installer with information on the activities that must be performed prior to the installation of the IECC Upgrade 002 software.
