Introduction

The SDS Difference List Tool, WINSDSPT, is a program designed to detect differences in the IECC SDS screen picture data between two input files and show these differences in an understandable format. This will cut the amount of time required to re-test SDS picture data when changes are made.

SDS relational data S-records are used as the source data for the tool. These records are used because the data has been through all the compilation stages and is ready to be put onto the EPROMs at this point. This gives increased confidence in the validity of the results as a true picture of what will appear on the final system.

Four data areas are extracted from the S-records:

A table of pointers

A list of picture list names called LISTDIR

A list of data associated with the picture names called LISTDATA

A list of primitive drawing elements used by the data in LISTDATA called TABLEDATA

These data are decoded and displayed in a similar format to that used in the "CREATE" picture drawing package.
