This TI amends the requirements of NR/SMTH/Part 4/CA02, providing an alternative practice to allow a cable to be left unattended before the changeover is complete.
Purpose
SMTH Test Plan CA02 outlines the process for changing a multicore cable, one circuit at a time. This is applied whenever a multicore cable is required to be changed, but when it is not possible to obtain a possession to change over the whole cable at once.
A requirement of CA02 is that the cable must not be left unattended after step 10 of the test plan has been completed (i.e. once circuit changeovers have started). It is now acknowledged that compliance with this requirement is not always practical or economic.
