A technique is presented for using an energy index to monitor a building’s energy management program. A target Energy Utilization Index (EUI) is computed, and this target is compared wlth current energy usage to assess the progress of energy conservation efforts. The method is relatively easy for the engineer to implement, and the information is in a form that provides the building operator with a quick assessment of the energy management program.
