4234 -- A Survey of In-Tube Evaporation of Ammonia Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Investigations PDF

This paper describes experimental studies of the in-tube evaporation of ammonia conducted by six groups of researchers, as well as two-phase heat transfer or pressure drop correlations proposed or recommended as a result of the research. It also compares a portion of the data collected in these studies to several heat transfer and pressure drop correlations. This paper was to include experimental investigations with smooth and enhanced tubes and miscible and immiscible oils, but it was found that no results of studies conducted with ammonia in either enhanced tubes or with miscible oils are available in the open literature.
