In this paper it is clarified for a big cultural building in Doha that under hot climates the general comfort conditions for moderate climatesremain valid. The meteorological situation concerning temperature, humidity and wind is described for Qatar. The main task there is cooling anddehumidification. There exist different methods. Though solar cooling technologies would principally work, it is recommended to better usecompression cooling technologies with dry air coolers to renounce from water usage and make an additional effort to create electrical energy byregenerative sources. Use of wet cooling towers here is not a good solution due to the value of potable water.

Three examples are analyzed:

1. Photovoltaics,
2. Wind energy,
3. Solar collectors with a low-pressure steam turbine.

In a special case one should decide the priority. It seems that a combination of photovoltaics and wind will bring good results. Solar collectors needa big available area and an important pipe-station at the coast, but they permit to get in addition to electrical energy an interesting potential ofpotable water.
