The objective of present research is to evaluate the thermal effectiveness of a highly reflective coating used at the outdoor surface of roofs. The objective of the reflective coating is to reduce the solar heat gain from the outdoor to indoor space by reflecting most of it. A testing room was constructed with indoor controlled temperature, the concrete roof is coated with different solar reflections, and the heat gain for all case studies is determined to measure the thermal effectiveness of the roof with reflective coating. The results show a significant reduction of the heat gain when the reflective coating is applied, and the coating is capable of reducing the heat flux at the indoor surface of the roof by 48.8%.
