The Kyoto Protocol requires participating nations to limit growthof greenhouse gases, or reduce them, with the GHG production of 2010 to be compared to a baseline of 1990. The next several years will be a challenge for countries that are not meeting goals. In Canada, the federal government has accepted the national challenge posed by Kyoto and is looking for ways to reduce GHG emissions.
