The phasing out of conventional HFC refrigerants due to their environmental impact has prompted the evaluation of alternative low-GWP refrigerants' thermal performances. This seminar highlights the in-tube heat transfer of low-GWP HFOs, HFCs, and their mixtures in internally enhanced microfin tubes, ranging from 2.11 mm to 11.98 mm ID. A new correlation, developed using neural network and applicable to 16 refrigerants, with lower error than existing correlations, is introduced. The seminar also compares the experimental performance of R-32 and R-410A in microfin and smooth tubes to demonstrate the effectiveness of the enhanced solution and clarify simple design guidelines.
