This standard specifies rules for the professional qualification of Welding Inspectors and thereby to ensure an inspection to a professional standard prior to, during and subsequent to welding operations.
This standard deals with one level of inspectors only. The qualification requirements prior to approval is described in clause 5, and shown in figure 1.
This standard is applicable when the welding inspector approval is required by a client, manufacturer, in a contract or in an application standard.
This standard gives the basis for a national third party approval.
