This standard specifies tasks, education and certification of welding inspectors.
This standard deals with one level of certification of welding inspectors only. The qualification requirements prior to the certification are described in clause 5, and shown in figure 1.
This standard specifies necessary education in order to be certified as Welding Inspector.
This standard is applicable when the welding inspector certification is required by a client or a manufacturer, in a contract or in an application standard.
This standard which is based on elements from EN ISO/IEC 17024, provides the basis for third-party certification.
