Introduction

Manufacturers of mobile stations aremaking provisions to incorporate. the authentication key without the benefit of a uniform approach for entry, revision and display. There is concern that different manufacturer implementations may foreclose vanous carrier approaches to handling the authentication key, and limit the security of the authentication key in these different approaches. This TSB recommends a uniform approach for entry, revision and display of the A-key, while providing the maximum flexibility for carriers.
