This slide presentation outlines information on a project to evaluate whether the immunoassay (IMA) method could
be used to further understand atrazine occurrence
in the United States. Specific objectives were to improve the drinking water community's understanding of
triazine occurrence patterns in U.S. source waters, and to
gain a better understanding of short-term variability in
atrazine occurrence. The study is based on a 2004 survey of 47 treatment plants that used the Abraxis ELISA atrazine
testkit to measure atrazine
occurrence in drinking water (raw
and finished) on a weekly basis. Topics covered include: elements of the 2004 atrazine monitoring program; and, regulatory issues.
