This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a diagram of where our water goes, and then lists different types of water losses. A figure is provided that illustrates the Contribution of Billed Volume by Meter Size, and statistics are given for a Small Meter Accuracy Study that illustrates the impact that small meters have on apparent water losses. A figure is provided that presents the results of an AWWA Research Foundation Residential End Use Study - Phoenix Data Set in terms of percentage of volume passed at each flow rate range, and a comparison is provided of Flow Allocations by Range for Composite Accuracy Calculation. Findings show that: meter make appears to be the most important factor influencing accuracy; and, there is not a strong correlation between meter age or total volume flowed and accuracy. Figures are presented for Potential Water Loss from 5/8" Meters; Potential Annual Loss of Revenue By Meter Make; and, Annual Revenue Loss Per Meter By Meter Make.
