This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of public water systems and their challenges. TMF capacity, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
(CDPHE) TMF capacity development program, a website for water
systems to perform their own TMF self-assessments, and usage statistics are all presented. Lessons learned include: support from stakeholders is key including
funding organizations,
state engineers, and
operational assistance staff;
some systems may need one-on-one
assistance initially;
keep it simple and organized with
focused questions based on experience and
questions linked to mandatory and recommended
capacity elements for DWRF funding; and,
step-by-step recommendations with associated tools
and guidance manuals.
