The objectives of this powerpoint presentation were to:
highlight job satisfaction issues of operators at
small systems;
provide some solutions for retaining and
recognizing operators; and,
highlight some best practices. Methods included: surveying
300 water operators about current operator
job satisfaction and what would improve it; and,
case studies from utilities that had good
operator retention. Findings from operator survey are presented on who was surveyed, job satisfaction, water operators as professionals, and merit pay incentives. Several examples are provided. Includes figures.
