This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the impact of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) on water
treatment processes, and DOC removal. Study objectives include the following:
formulate a mathematical model to describe
removal of DOC by anion exchange treatment
in a completely mixed flow reactor; and,
evaluate the relative influence of process
operating conditions and DOC characteristics
on process performance. Presentation conclusions indicate the following:
two-scale mathematical model describing DOC
removal by anion exchange treatment;
model predictions in agreement with the results
of two pilot plant studies; and,
model provides a tool to evaluate treatment
scenarios and process operating conditions. Includes 5 references, tables, figures.
