This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of MPA Key Components in Groundwater under Direct Influence (GWUDI)
Assessments. Existing MPA methods and limitations are presented, along with
proposed improved MPA Method,
demonstration study and RBF field sites,
results of demonstration study, and
complementary column studies. Conclusions from scouring
transport studies indicate the following:
colmation zone is not the only governing
factor for disproportionate removal of
colloids near the surface water source,
colloid population heterogeneity;
colloid transport complex and further
studies necessary; and,
transport understanding essential to
identify appropriate indicators of transport. Includes tables, figures.
