This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Regional Municipality of Peel in Ontario, Canada. WaterSmartPeel (WSP) is presented as a water efficient program (WEP) that was developed to address growing
population and increasing demands on the
water system in the Region of Peel. WEP goals include reducing AADD and Peak Day
Demand by up to 10% by 2015.
WSP intends to reach these goals through
water efficiency and education programs. Both residential and Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) WEPs were started in 2005, and specific programs highlighted include the following: a Residential Toilet Replacement Program; a Water Efficiency Retrofit Project; ICI Toilet Replacement Program; ICI Water Audits; and, Pre-Rinse Spray Valve
Replacement. Education and outreach is presented, along with promotion and marketing.
